Tasting Note:

Intense floral notes of lavender and violets along with plum, clove and dark chocolate. This smaller berried and earlier harvest at Cornish Point contributes saturating fruit, spice and hints of sandalwood on the palate. Brooding with serious intent amongst the black plum and mocha flavours, the entire package is utterly complete and there is no doubt time will reveal further complexity and intrigue.

Reviews:

96 points, Bob Campbell
Outer quote mark Moderately intense Pinot Noir with dark-fleshed plum, dark berry, cassis, chocolate-mocha, spice, anise and subtle floral notes supported by suede-like tannins. A complex wine that can be appreciated now but will clearly benefit from bottle age. Inner quote mark (8/2021)

95 points, James Suckling
Outer quote mark strawberries, sour cherries, dried orange rind, dried herbs and spice box. Medium-to full-bodied with crisp acidity and fine tannins. Structured and crunchy. Lovely texture. Mineral and fleshy with a long, flavorful finish. Inner quote mark (11/2021)

93 points, Vinous
Outer quote mark The 2020 Pinot Noir Cornish Point is fragrant, poised and shapely. Despite its silken texture and flowing style, there's unexpected, almost fierce substance within the core of this light- to mid-weight style. That power follows through on the structured palate, and fine tannins provide assured grip, which seems to be a result of the small berries of this vintage, giving a greater skin-to-juice ratio. There's fresh cherry fruit and an attractive herbal twist on the medium-long finish. A Cornish Point with muscle that should age well. (RG) Inner quote mark (4/2022)

6.5++/20 points, Jancis Robinson
Outer quote mark Indigenous yeast. Aged 13 months in French oak, 30% new. Not fined or filtered. Mid to dark crimson. More lifted than the Bannockburn. More transparent and ethereal with a vegetal hint on the finish. Interesting! Not trying to be burgundy but pretty emphatic in its own mould without being heavy.
