Tasting notes:
A pure, bright and youthful citrus driven chardonnay with complex smokey, flint, toast and biscuit notes derived from extended barrel aging on full solids. The hallmarks of Dog Point chardonnay are ever present here with pure saline and crisp palate structure. This vintage will have the ability to age well.

94 points, James Suckling
Inviting aromas of flint, matchstick, grated nutmeg, dried lemon rind and sliced grapefruit. Medium-bodied with a silky texture. Fresh and bright fruit turns more savoury, with herbs and spice coming to the forefront. Layered. Tannic, tight finish. From organically grown grapes.

The 2020 Chardonnay is firm, concentrated and driven. It has a rich aromatic expression that's exceedingly young and puppy-like in its exuberance from the toasted hazelnuts of oak to smoky bacon hints and a salty note overlaying nectarine fruit flavors. It is not backward in coming forward but it is pure, lively and purposeful with plenty of interesting layers. A Chardonnay that will reward cellaring.
They have dialled down on the struck match in this vintage. But still, the bright fruit, precision, and some real breadth on palate entry. More persistent than the Section 94 Sauvignon from the same vintage. There's some fine French oak implicated here—a thoroughly satisfying drink for now or a bit later. Really well made.
