Tasting notes:
Light golden with a green hue. Nuanced nose of discreet (if any) wood, there’s some nuttiness and butter notes suggesting wood paired with yellow fruit. The palate has good grip and extract, finely balanced with ripe yellow fruit, crushed almond and butter notes, ripe and rounded texture with a long and layered finish.

Bright golden-tinged yellow. Apple and pear on the delicate nose. Bright and juicy, with lemony zing lifting the ripe orchard fruit and sweet spice flavors. The finish is long and suave in typical Unterebner fashion, with herbal nuances emerging on the long back end. Doesn’t taste especially high in acid, although the numbers say the total acidity was 6.2 g/L (only 50% of the malo done), so the wine comes across as quite fresh and lively. A warm year also characterized by a higher than usual number of sunlight hours. There was very little rainfall in the summer accounting for big, round wines.

The 2015 Alto Adige Pinot Grigio Unterebner offers a steady procession of citrus, white peach and honeydew melon aromas. The aromatic intensity is mild and neatly tucked within the inner workings of the bouquet, adding to the wine's momentum and overall harmony. The wine offers a silky and smooth texture with easy-drinking appeal. This is not your standard Pinot Grigio. There is a lot more finesse and overall complexity on hand here.
